Governance & Public Administration
The Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) and the Department of Personnel & Training run programmes on administrative modernisation, cutting paperwork, and measuring the quality of public service. Pending matters & swachhata
Since 2021 DARPG has coordinated annual Special Campaigns across ministries. They clear pending matters, review and weed out old files, free office space and dispose of scrap. The figures below are the department's own reported outcomes.

Assessing governance
DARPG publishes comparative assessments of how states, ministries and districts deliver public services.
National e-Governance Service Delivery Assessment
The Way Forward Report 2023 says States and UTs offered 16,487 e-services in December 2023, up from 11,614 in April 2023. Saturation of mandatory e-services was 76%, compared with 69% under NeSDA 2021.

PM's Awards for Excellence in Public Administration
The Prime Minister confers the awards on Civil Services Day; the 2024 awards were given on 21 April 2025. The Minister said applications rose from 1,216 (2023) to 1,588 (2024) and 2,035 (2025).

e-Civil List 2025
The 70th edition of the Civil List of IAS officers was launched on 19 May 2025. At the launch the Minister suggested adding AI-based search.

Rozgar Mela
The Prime Minister launched Rozgar Mela on 22 October 2022. About 12 lakh appointment letters were issued through the first 18 Melas; the 19th (23 May 2026) was to distribute more than 51,000 more. The events are led by the Prime Minister and carried out by many ministries.

Removing obsolete rules
At an event on 18 June 2025 marking eleven years of the Ministry's work, the Minister said: “For the first time since Independence, a government has taken pride in doing away with redundant rules rather than creating new ones.”
